Graeme Swann has given England the ideal opportunity to win the Second and Final Test at the P Sara Oval in Colombo. Swann took 4 for 82 to reduce hosts Sri Lanka to 218 for 6 in 91 overs. The homeside have an overall lead of just the 33 runs with not much of batting left. However, the match could still end in a draw if the overnight batting pair of Mahela Jayawardene and Angelo Mathews along with Prasanna Jayawardene manage to dig deep on the final day.
Resuming the fourth day’s play at 4 for no loss, Sri Lanka found themselves in trouble at 125 for 4. A 90-run stand between Thilan Samaraweera (47 from 139 balls) and Skipper Mahela Jayawardene (55* from 157 balls) defied the visitors for a significant amount of time. By Stumps, Swann picked up two wickets that of Samaraweera and Suraj Randiv to put England back in control.
